Distributed Load Balancing in Cache Network

Abstract
In this talk we consider a Content Delivery Network (CDN) consisting of a connected network of caching servers. The question we address is how to allocate upcoming content requests to these servers, in a distributed manner, so that the load is balanced out between them. As we will discuss, there exists a fundamental trade-off between the load balancing, storage size, and delivery communication cost. In our analysis, we employ results from Balls-into-Bins paradigm and moreover we investigate the role of coding.
